Overview

Emma’s Torch is a non-profit social enterprise that trains refugees in the culinary arts. Its annual report is a key fundraising tool that showcases its success in the past year as well as its vision for the future.

Objectives

Emma’s Torch had important funder conversations in the spring and needed its 2021 annual report completely by February. With an organization leader on maternity leave, Emma’s Torch needed a trusted, strategic writer with design capabilities to own the annual report start-to-finish.

Implementation

I held in-depth conversations with organization leaders about Emma’s Torch’s successes from 2021 and its plans for 2022. This was the foundation of the annual report narrative. View the full report here.

Since 2021 marked the organization’s 5th year of operations, I suggested creating a five-year impact page in addition to a one-year impact page. I worked with Emma’s Torch to source the data for the page. The final product was shared multiple times on social media and garnered significant interest in the organization.

My team did the design and layout of the entire document.
